While watching her oldest son, Bronny James, get selected by the Lakers on Thursday night, Savannah James became emotional and needed a tissue to dry her tears of happiness.
When it was announced that LeBron was selected by Los Angeles with the 55th overall choice in the 2024 NBA Draft, his wife was spotted standing right behind the 19-year-old hooper. Moments after she gave her son a Lakers hat, the celebrations began.

Dad appears not to have been there at the private party, but he nonetheless posted a number of images on Instagram expressing his happiness for his son.

Meanwhile, Bryce, Bronny’s brother, was present in person for the former USC Trojan’s big night and was grinning while shooting everything. Naturally, this is a historic event since, for the first time in NBA history, a father-son team will be playing together.
It’s unlikely that Bronny will play like Pops straight away because he needs more experience before he can contribute significantly to the Lake Show. Bronny was a McDonald’s All-American in the past.
Rob Pelinka, general manager of Los Angeles Lakers, however, tells reporters that Bronny is a “person of high character” whose work ethic is what their club is seeking for, demonstrating that he obviously sees promise.
