According to Google, Soulja Boy is estimated to be worth $35 million, but the court cannot find any money to his name after he was ordered to pay his ex-girlfriend Kayla Myers $472K for assault.
Soulja Boy could not pay the money, and when Kayla took him back to court to force him to sell his asset to make payment, the judge was shocked to see no money in Soulja Boy’s name while he lived in a $250K a month home. Instead of finding ways for Soulja Boy to pay Kayla, the judge used the time to show concern over Soulja Boy’s extravagant lifestyle and asked him to make changes before it was too late. The 33-year-old rapper is finding any way possible to skip paying the legal debt.
Soulja Boy’s ex-girlfriend Kayla Myers was recently awarded $472,000 after the rapper was found liable for assaulting her.
Now Soulja is trying to avoid paying her and Kayla wants the rapper to sell his assets in order to be able to hand over the coins…the judge believes it may be the only way.
“While it is not clear that defendant could just snap his fingers and book as many shows as he would like, neither is it clear that he cannot work at all,” the judge said per Radar Online. “It might not be the work he wants (and he might not be headlining), but the court has no reason to believe that he cannot perform at all.”
The judge added, “Someone as close to zero (financially) as defendant claims to be might want to scale down the living arrangements. $25,000 is a lot of monthly rent — even in Los Angeles. There is no reason of which the court is aware that he could not relocate to a more ‘modest’ $10,000/month home. Defendant must be earning money from somewhere sufficient to pay for the rent and whatever other monthly expenses he has. In other words, defendant is paying $300,000/year in rent alone. It stands to reason that he must have some other living expenses. And that money must come from somewhere. It is not coming from loans, for defendant did not testify as to any other debts.
The judge warned that Soulja would find himself in debt massively if he does not curb his spending.
Is Soulja Boy broke?
Soulja Boy was ordered to pay the debt back in April after Kayla accused him of kidnap and assault in 2020. The said amount is to compensate Kayla for her emotional and physical damages after the attack. From all indications, Soulja Boy has no interest in paying or is actually too broke to pay.
