“We’re not here to take part, we’re here to take over.” Those were the words of Conor McGregor, the most famous and wealthiest star in the UFC from Ireland. Now, following in those footsteps, Ian Garry from Ireland is making waves in the UFC. With an impressive record of 12-0 where he showed his dominance in UFC with 5 wins in his last matches, he’s now gearing up to face Neil Magny. During the pre-event press conference, fans compared him to McGregor as he called him out in a similar way McGregor once called out.

In the lead-up to UFC 292, Ian Garry has been putting in the effort and wealth of experience in the game, as Magny poses the toughest challenge Garry has faced yet. However, during the pre-fight press conference, Neil Magny’s words left the Irish fighter astonished.

At first, Garry had a match lined up against Neal for UFC 292. Regrettably, it came to light that Neal had to back out due to undisclosed health problems. This led to Neil Magny stepping in as a last-minute replacement, slated to face Garry on Saturday, August 19th.

Now, in his press conference, given his Irish accent, some people speculated that he might be deliberately trying to emulate McGregor’s speech to gain a similar fan appeal and come across as a McGregor-like figure.

At presser, like McGregor he didn’t hold back and lambasted him, “He (Magny) just sat there and said being a father, word for word, I’ve got accustomed to giving that a** whooping!”. After which the crowd roared which even pumped him more and with his Irish accent he challenged him to annihilate Magny.

He sees his career from a business perspective, and based on the performance he plans to deliver at the TD Garden this weekend, he’s anticipating a thriving business. Magny has been a consistent presence in the welterweight Top 15 for quite some time, yet he’s struggled to transition from being a contender to a title contender. With this upcoming match, he aims to bolster his case and make a compelling argument for himself.
