Watch Portland State Head Coach Bruce Barnum Explain How One Of His Players Got Their Ear Ripped Off During Their 81-7 Loss To Oregon

Talk about adding insult to injury.

Portland State was expected to lose to Oregon big time in their season opener given they were 46 point underdogs but no one saw them losing 81-7. It was an extremely ugly game and the Vikings would probably love to forget it.

One guy for the Vikings will more than likely always remember this game and it isn’t because they got beat by 74. It’s because he got his ear ripped off.

Yes, you read that correctly.

A member of the Oregon State football team had his ear ripped off according to head coach Bruce Barnum.

“We’re fine. We had one guy get his ear ripped off. They sewed it back on and now they say he has a concussion, so he’s out, but I think he’s fine,” Barnum told John Canzano. “Not the whole ear; a partial ear detachment. I think it was from when he got his helmet knocked off, so I think his ear didn’t come out of his helmet.

It wasn’t his whole ear but that doesn’t really matter considering no one wants their ear ripped off and it was able to be sewed back up.

Getting beat that bad is one thing but getting your ear ripped off and suffering a concussion might make you question if you really want to play the sport anymore.
