Derek Fisher and Gloria Govan are finally a married couple, three years after Fisher proposed. This also comes over three years after Matt Barnes, former teammate of Fisher’s for trying to fight Fisher. This is after he used to date Govan. Barnes had two sons with Govan.
This past weekend, Fisher and Govan reportedly got married at Cielo Farms in Malibu, California. The wedding was initially supposed to happen last April, but that got scrapped due to the COVID-19 pandemic starting.
“We got engaged in 2018, and we eagerly started planning the wedding, but, unfortunately, like many, we had to cancel our big day,” said Govan to PEOPLE. “There were times we thought we should have a Zoom wedding instead of waiting but quickly realized our families being a part of the big day was important and our kids, who are just as excited as we are.”
Fisher and Barnes squashed their longtime beef a few months ago, and Fisher is now a happily married man. It’s safe to say that things worked out in the end. Fisher is also currently the Head Coach and General Manager of the WNBA’s Los Angeles Sparks.
