The New York Post via the Associated Press is reporting that former Tennessee wide receiver Da’Rick Rogers has transferred to FCS Tennessee Tech and will be eligible to play immediately.
The school and Rogers confirmed the move Monday.
“It’ll be exciting,” Rogers said in a school release announcing the move. “I’m excited to be here and be with the team and have brand new camaraderie with these guys. It’ll be fun to watch us play.”
Rogers was persuaded to Tennessee Tech by former Calhoun (Ga.) High School teammate Tre Lamb, who is the quarterback at Tech now.
Rogers caught 67 passes for 1,040 yards and nine touchdowns last year to earn all-SEC honors.
The troubled receiver should dominate at the Football Championship Subdivision before moving on to the NFL.
That’s if he can stay out of trouble.
