Some sports arguments refuse to die. They just sit quietly for years, waiting for someone to bring them up again.
That is exactly what happened when Terrell Owens and Max Kellerman finally discussed their infamous First Take segment.
The moment has lived in sports-TV history for years. It had everything you could want from a heated debate. Big personalities, strong opinions, plenty of shouting. And, of course, the kind of awkward tension that makes viewers forget they were supposed to be doing something productive.
Now, Owens and Kellerman have finally revisited the moment. And yes, it was about as comfortable as you would expect.
Owens is no stranger to controversy. During his NFL career, the Hall of Fame receiver became famous for making headlines both on and off the field. He was outspoken, confident and never particularly interested in keeping his opinions to himself.
Kellerman is basically built for sports debates. Give him a microphone, a controversial topic and five minutes, and he will find a way to turn it into a courtroom drama.
So putting these two together was never going to be a quiet conversation about the weather.
The infamous First Take appearance became one of those clips that fans continued to remember long after the original broadcast. Social media helped keep it alive. Every few years, someone would repost it and suddenly everyone was debating the same argument all over again.

Apparently, the internet has unlimited storage for sports beef.
During their recent discussion, the two were able to look back at what happened with the benefit of time. That alone made the conversation interesting. What feels like a massive sports war in the moment can look very different years later.
Terrell Owens and Max Kellerman have finally opened the door on one of their most memorable First Take moments.
And after all these years, the beef may finally be getting its documentary treatment.
Better late than never!
