On the menu this week Larry Johnson Tweets, Saints Unstoppable, Parity, Mr. Benson, Austin Powers.
The Thigh: Larry that’s they call him
I knew it was just a matter of time before someone Twitter account was going to get them suspended or in Larry Johnson’s case maybe black balled out of the league.
LJ has had his share of problems in KC. From him and Dick Vermeil arguing over diapers to him having a hard time taking rejection well in the club.
One thing athletes especially ones that have had some success fail to realize is that you can get away with being a horrible person when you are productive, but when you are averaging 2.6 yard per carry not so much.
You can’t be calling the media and people on twitter gay slurs. You just can’t especially if you are already on your last leg in regards to your career.
I will say this for the 100th time if you aren’t an emotionally stable person stay off twitter it isn’t good for you.
The Leg: The Saints are marching in
Name the teams if they got down 24-3 right before halftime that you think could make a comeback?
Only three come to mind: Patriots, Colts & Saints
The interesting thing about the Saints is they just didn’t come back they drop 43 points from the last second of the half until the end of the game.
The Saints remind me much more of the 1999 Rams than the 2007 Patriots.
Those Rams had so many weapons and a smoking hot QB. But the thing that really strikes a chord with me is that those Rams had a very opportunistic defense that always came up with a key turnover or play to change the game around.
I don’t think the Saints will go undefeated by they were my Super Bowl pick out of the NFC and I am feeling really good about that.
The Wing: Parity in the NFL is a fallacy
The Rams, Bucs, Chiefs, Browns and Raiders lost by a combined score of:
183-23
Just think about that for a minute.
The Biscuit: Cedric gets his revenge
I still don’t know how to explain what happened to Cedric Benson. Most running backs either have it or don’t. I saw Benson in Chicago and he certainly didn’t have it. He was able to wiggle out of some arrests in Chicago that would have ended his career forever and then when the Bengals were desperate they brought him in with no expectations at all.
Then out of nowhere he just starts beasting. After Adrian Peterson I don’t know of a back that I wouldn’t want running the ball for me right now.
If anyone has an explanation or a theory please let me know.
The Drink: Stat of the century:
I got this from Peter Kings Monday Morning QB.
Miles Austin: 2 Games, 16 Catches, 421 Yards, 26.3 average and 4 TDs
Roy Williams: 17 Games, 31 Catches, 428 Yards, 13.8 Average and 2 TDs
Austin: undrafted and makes 1.5 million a year
Williams: #1 pick that Dallas gave up a 1st, 3rd, and 6th round picks for plus gave a contract extension that averages out at 9 million a year.
The Cowboys have not won a playoff since I was a High School.
