The Lakers have gone Frank Lucas on Mike Miller.
They have given him a midnight deadline to sign a 5 year, $30 million contract, according to a report from Jeff Goodman from Fox Sports.
We just reported the Lakers had come to terms with Steve Blake, but in my opinion Mike Miller would be a bigger signing.
One of the problems with Ron Artest and Lamar Odom is while they both bring a unique skill set to the Lakers, neither of them are “pure shooters.”
Miller is a “pure shooter” and putting him on a team where he would be the 3rd or 4th option means he will get all those open looks that Artest and Odom clanged off the backboard in the playoffs.
Miller has options; there are reports both Wade and LeBron would like to bring him in to whatever team they end up signing with, but if you are Miller, do you take a little less to become a key component of a team that is gunning for a three-peat?
I say yes.
