When I first read the quote my initial reactions was this.
But then I thought about and what else is he suppose to say? We expect players to have a positive attitude, so Oden has to have this type of mindset if he wants to be a serviceable player in the NBA.
Here is what Oden had to say about his on going rehab.
“There’s been a lot of negativity out there,” Oden said about his reputation in Portland. “I just try not to deal with that. I’ll be back. All I can do is control myself and what I’m going through.”
“Kevin Durant is doing a great job,” Oden said. “Who wouldn’t want to lead the league in scoring and be an All-Star? But right now, I’ve got to worry about myself and get myself healthy and put myself in the best possible position to dominate.”
I can tell you that Oden is one of the nicest individuals you will ever meet, but there was concerns even back when he was at Ohio State that his body specifically his knees were already breaking down and that was before his 20th birthday.
There is no timetable for his return and some think it will never happen, but wish him luck and it doesn’t look like he is ready to “Cutler” the situation just yet.
