Notre Dame Michael Floyd Arrested on DUI
I thought this didn’t happen at Notre Dame?

If this was the first time, I would give Floyd a pass, but this is his second alcohol related incident. Here are the details:
Notre Dame wide receiver Michael Floyd was arrested over the weekend on suspicion of drunken driving, his second alcohol-related offense in little more than a year.
Floyd was booked into the county jail in South Bend at 4:06 a.m. Sunday and was released about seven hours later on $500 bond, St. Joseph County Sheriff’s Sgt. William Redman said Monday. He said he didn’t have any details about the arrest because it was handled by campus police.
Since he is a superstar and the Notre Dame team doesn’t have a lot of talent, don’t worry about him being discipline. He will get a slap on the wrist and he will be back on the field when college football season starts.
This is Floyd’s second brush with the law involving alcohol. Floyd received a citation for underage drinking in Minneapolis on Jan. 8, 2010. Floyd and Minnesota running back Shady Salamon, who were former Cretin-Derham Hall prep teammates in St. Paul, Minn., were cited after police were called to a fight involving six to 10 people.
Notre Dame is no different than any other major college program. They all have skeletons in their closet and all protect their star players. If Floyd was 5th string WR, he would have already been dismissed from the team.
Looks like I have been proven wrong, maybe. Floyd has been suspended, but since it is the off-season we have no idea what that really means for the season.
“I’ve spoken to Michael Floyd and his mother and, in light of what took place this past weekend, I let him know he has been suspended indefinitely from football team-related activities,” Kelly said. “Football needs to take a backseat at the moment while Michael gets his life in order. … What’s most important right now is Michael focusing on maturing and developing more as a person while working to improve his decision-making processes.”
