Texas Rangers Fan Shannon Stone Dies After Falling From Stands

Very sad news coming out of Arlington as a Rangers fan died while trying to grab a ball that was tossed into the stands.

Here are the details.

The Texas Rangers say a fan died after falling out of the stands while trying to catch a baseball tossed his way during the game.

Rangers president Nolan Ryan said after Thursday night’s game that the team was “deeply saddened” to learn that the man “has passed away as a result of this tragic accident.”

The Rangers did not identify the man; they said he fell about 20 feet.

The fan fell head-first and landed behind a 14-foot-high wall supporting a video board that shows replays and scores from other games.

Josh Hamilton must fell sick right now as he was the one who tossed the ball toward the fans.  Of course it isn’t his fault because players do that all the time, but just such a senseless death.

The Rangers have to put some sort of padding out there because the man once he fell over, he had no support to break his fall.

Thoughts and prayers go out to the family and friends of the young man.
