What did I just say about the media being sharks smelling blood in the water?

To be clear a lot of this DeSean Jackson has brought on himself. Going all the way back to the summer during the NFL Lockout he has done things that have slowly but surely turned the media and public opinion against him.

It doesn’t take much and some of it isn’t fair, but life isn’t fair.

Once it became clear that that Eagles weren’t going to pay him, he needed to become a politician but instead he started to pout.

Pouting never plays well with the public or the media. We are in a media world where Cris Collinsworth says Stevie Johnson dance was worse than the Suh Stomp, so expected to be treated fairly isn’t a given.

Jackson has backed himself into a corner, he didn’t handle these questions terribly by the media, but he needs to understand perception is everything.  He needs to carry himself better.

Lose the black scully, trim the beard, stop making faces and answer the questions even if they are stupid like where you warm up at.  Engage your teammates on the sidelines, run your routes at full speed and stop acting like a baby.

Because right now Jackson is being portrayed as the one thing that once you get that tag it is hard to get rid of it. The angry, spoiled, diva and selfish black athlete.

He is young and he still has time, but he needs to get it together and quickly.
