Well the question has been answered by one party. James Ihedigbo, DB for the NY Jets tweeted “http://twitpic.com/2f57xa – Our Room keys….!!!!!!” The main picture is his room key which shows New Meadowlands Stadium with Jets insignia proclaiming it as “Our House.” My thoughts on this….
Um ok…There is yet to be a game played and Jets already proclaim it as their home. There are not completely wrong, when Giants/Jets play tomorrow they will be home team. But in big picture, its half their home and the other half is NY Giants home. Jets organization are probably trying to stake claim on New Stadium because old Stadium they played in from 1984 till last year was called Giants Stadium. So no matter their success, they lived in the shadow of the Giants who won 3 SuperBowls during the time they have been cohabiting.
Of course, last year things changed. Giants began season on fire going 5-0 then sputtered to a 8-8 record missing the playoffs. The Jets on the other hand, under new coach(Rex Ryan), Rookie QB(Mark Sanchez), and #1 Ranked D in the league began season 4-6 and ended up with a 9-6* record making an improbable run to conference championship.(*Colts/Bengals took bye weeks to get healthy final weeks of regular season and gave away wins to Jets). So the balance of power/NY Sports backpages, at least since end of last year, has shifted towards Jets. Jets have acquired many marquee players through trades, free agency, and draft setting up for a championship run. Coach Ryan publicly came out and guaranteed a Superbowl victory. Dont forget for added publicity, they are being featured on Hard Knocks. Here’s video of fun your missing…

So of course, players/coaches on both sides send verbal jabs at each other for NY Football supremacy. This pic will be only add more fuel to the fiery feud. What does this all mean? Tomorrow’s preseason game should be fun. Both teams will be playing to win the game and be first to claim the stadium as spoil of victory. If you don’t watch any other preseason football game, watch this one. Cue MNF theme…Are you ready for some football?
