Hines for the majority of the game yesterday was making love to the bench, if only he had that speed he showed in the Dark Knight trailer.

Mike Freeman from CBS Sports thinks we have seen the last of Hines.

Did Hines Ward play his last game? It appears he might have. A Steelers player texted to me the expectations around the team was that Ward would soon announce his retirement. That doesn’t mean it’s set he will. That means some Steelers players believe it which means it’s likely to happen.

Ward is clearly done physically. He just doesn’t have the burst he once did. He was held without a catch against the Broncos and has become an afterthought in the Pittsburgh offense.

Freeman thinks he is a sure fire Hall of Famer. I think he goes into the Hall of Very Good. My criteria for the Hall of Fame is very simple, if I have to hesitate you shouldn’t get in and with Hines he was good player but I would have to be convinced he is Hall of Famer which means I don’t think he should get in.
