Rockets Expected to Make Poison Pill Offer to Jeremy Lin

For those unfamiliar to what a poison pill offer is.

It is when a team signs a restricted free agent to a heavily backloaded contract to deter the players’ original team from matching the offer because it would cripple their salary cap in future years.

While some say no matter the offer the Knicks will match, others aren’t so sure.

Lin is set to meet Wednesday with the Houston Rockets.

And expect the Rockets to make an offer, according to the Associated Press. Other reports suggest this could be a four-year, $30 million poison pill offer.
