The Lakers and the Celtics were the dominant teams in NBA basketball during the 1980s, especially considering how many Finals appearances and titles these two teams had. The two teams formed a generation-long rivalry despite playing in different conferences. Fans finally witnessed the reunion of the Boston Celtics‘ Big 4, over 25 years after their heyday, with Robert Parish even making NSFW remarks in grand style.
The “Big Four,” if you will, of the Boston Celtics were expert basketball players. At the Prudential Center’s Dick’s House Sporting Goods opening, the 80s stars got back together under the direction of none other than Larry Bird.
Kevin McHale, seated on a panel with the other three, was making a point when his old teammate Robert Parish comically cut him off in the middle. McHale stated,
“The combination of this force took the court a lot.”
Just as McHale was about to conclude, Parish spoke up and said,
“Imma say it out loud, we were f**king sh*t up. Hell yeah, that’s right.”

Kevin McHale and Cedric Maxwell were both amused by Robert Parish’s remarks right away, although neither of them disagreed with Parish’s assertions. It was dangerous to underestimate the power of the Celtics.
Parish and McHale combined to become one of the best frontcourts in Boston’s history. The latter of the two was an expert post player who could maneuver around the rim and score points with skill rather than brute force.
Regarding the latter, he was among the best defensive players of all time because of his power and athleticism. Parish was the superior defender of the two, while McHale handled the offense when the team needed points, even though both players could score in the post.
Cedric Maxwell was also a very important player since he was a backup to Dennis Johnson’s reputation for shutting down players on the perimeter. Larry Bird, too? He completed everything, though. Even now, people discuss his offensive IQ while he’s on the floor. Additionally, his shooting was unlike anything that players or even fans had ever seen.
These players together controlled the majority of the game.
