The Philadelphia Eagles will have an open quarterback competition for the first time in over a decade. It’s always either been Donovan McNabb, It was Kevin Kolb’s job after that, and for the past 3 seasons, the job has belonged to Michael Vick.
New head coach Chip Kelly is having an open competition for the Eagles quarterback position between Vick, Nick Foles and Dennis Dixon.
Eagles running back LeSean McCoy says he’s excited to see the competition play out, but told NJ.com that in the end, “he thinks it will be Vicks job.”
“I think Michael Vick is the starting quarterback,” McCoy said in an interview with NJ.com.
McCoy said he recently worked out with Vick, and says “Michael is determined as ever to beat out Nick Foles for the job.”
“People forget- this is Michael Vick,” McCoy said. “He’s got a lot to prove this year, but he’s ready to roll. He knows people are questioning if he can get it done, and he’s gonna prove this year he can.”
McCoy was then asked if the Eagles can win with Vick at quarterback?
“Oh my God yes,” McCoy finished.
