If you had to go to bed early last night and missed the double-overtime thriller in Game 1 of the second-round match up between the San Antonio Spurs and Golden State Warriors, I don’t envy you.
This game had everything the neutral fan could want in a playoff basketball game and it’s unfortunate that someone had to lose but, the Warriors squandered a good chance to take the first game after leading by 16 with four minutes left.
The Spurs showed their championship pedigree by not panicking after being outplayed by a young and talented Warriors team led by a spectacular performance by point guard Steph Curry who finished with 44 points and 11 assists. But in the end experience trumped inexperience and Manu Ginobili sealed the game with a three to give the Spurs the early series advantage.
