The Philadelphia 76ers want Andrew Wiggins bad, and are prepared to give up a valuable veteran to acquire him. According to Keith Pompey of the Philadelphia Inquirer, the 76ers are interested in acquiring the Cavaliers No. 1 pick to ensure they land Wiggins.
But Fox Sports Ohio reported earlier this month that another team in the top three called the Cavaliers to measure their interest in trading the pick. ESPN.com reported in Tuesday’s updated mock draft that the Sixers were the team interested in moving up.
The report said the Sixers aren’t willing to give up their third and 10th picks. They will, however, possibly give up a combination of the No. 3 pick and power forward Thad Young, according to the report.
The Sixers are smitten with Wiggins and would love to avoid the anxiety of waiting to see if either Cleveland or Milwaukee chooses Wiggins before them.
