Since the Cleveland Cavaliers acquisition of Kevin Love, plenty has been made of the the All-Star’s ability to contribute on the defensive end. Minnesota Timberwolves owner Glen Taylor started things off by saying that Love is foul-prone and didn’t play much defense during his time in the Twin Cities. Love, of course, wasn’t too happy about the comments, telling Taylor to worry about his own team instead of the newest Cleveland Cavalier.
Now, Cavaliers GM David Griffin has weighed in on Love’s defensive presence and said the team isn’t very concerned about what Love will bring on the defensive end according to Andy Greder of the St. Paul Pioneer Press.
#Cavs GM David Griffin to Fox Sports Radio: "I don’t have any concerns about Kevin’s ability to be in right place at right time (on D.)"

Griffin continued: Love's "been really open about fact that he’s bringing a focus to that end of the floor that maybe he didn’t do before.”

So basically the Cavs expect Love to step it up defensively, but recognize that they will have problems protecting the rim as a team. I can’t wait for real basketball to start in a few weeks so we can stop discussing a bunch of hypotheticals.
