It seems the zen and confidence that comes from being around Phil Jackson and Derek Fisher is now rubbing off on Amar’e Stoudemire.
Amar’e finished last season strong, scoring in double figures in 20 of his last 21 games and averaging 16 points during that span.
Stoudemire told ESPN New York’s Ohm Youngmisuk that he feels dominant again.
“Obviously to reach back to my dominant self, I feel like I’m there now,” Stoudemire said. “I feel like my body is feeling so much stronger [than last year at this time] so I feel dominant.”
Stoudemire admitted that he understands how people can forget about him amid the circus that is Carmelo Anthony and Phil Jackson.
With all the Knicks buzz surrounding Phil Jackson, Derek Fisher, Carmelo Anthony and the triangle, Stoudemire has been the forgotten man.
“Yeah, I think so,” Stoudemire said. “I think the previous years of battling injuries, people have forgot.
“But it’s my job to remind them.”
