It not often that soon to be free agents reveal their potential destination during the regular season. According to the New York Post, Orlando Magic sweet shooting forward Tobias Harris would be interested in joining the Knicks this summer as a restricted free agent.
Tobias Harris, the Magic’s second-leading scorer, turned down a recent contract-extension offer and will become a restricted free agent this summer.
According to a source, Harris, who went to high school at Long Island’s Half Hollow Hills West, has a lot of interest in his hometown Knicks after becoming buddies with Carmelo Anthony over the summer.
The Magic can match any offer to Harris in July. They offered him a four-year, $36 million package at the Oct. 31 deadline, but he declined.
Harris and Knicks star Carmelo Anthony reportedly developed a rapport during pickup games at Anthony’s Terminal 23 gym.
Harris is averaging 18 points and 6 rebounds this season.
