The man who helped bring a new franchise record of 67 wins to the Golden State is now being rewarded with the NBA’s Executive of the Year.
Bob Myers, current GM of the Warriors, assembled a team that is amidst a dominating run and has championship aspirations this year – it seems no man is more deserving.
Draymond Green and Harrison Barnes were both drafted by Myers. He has an MVP candidate in Curry who only cost him 11 million dollars this year.
Myers was also instrumental in the hiring of Steve Kerr (a Coach of the Year candidate), as well as in keeping Klay Thompson’s name out of any trade talks for Kevin Love. If they can manage to snag Kevin Durant in 2016, as rumors have suggested? Myers will be on legendary status.
The point is, a lot of NBA GM’s may have mad their mark this year, but Bob Myers has been operating on another level.
We all know the award means nothing if the Warriors can’t manage to win the Finals, though. They ain’t working for accolades in an NBA Front Office.
