PAC12 Player of the Year and Oregon Duck guard Joseph Young had a fantastic senior season that ended with him putting on a show in the 1st 2 rounds of the NCAA tournament.
Young’s scoring ability is among the best in this draft, and even at 6’2 his array moves he can get his shot at will.
Oddly enough, Young has yet to workout and show his skills for any NBA team since May.
According to ESPN’s Chad Ford, Young hasn’t worked out for any team since the NBA Combine in Chicago, which is a bit weird because most mock drafts have him slated to go mid 2nd round.
“And the fact that he hasn’t worked out since the combine is suspicious. Multiple sources believe that a team in the late first round made him a promise in exchange for not working out for other teams. While I have no idea if that’s L.A., he is a good get at No. 27.”
Now this could all be speculation, but Young’s scoring prowess is elite in this draft so a team trying to keep him under wraps isn’t too far-fetched.
Will wait and see where Young falls in the NBA Draft next Thursday at Barclays Center.
