Marshawn Lynch is on his way to the City of Brotherly Love, and right now he’s just hoping for some good news.
According to Ian Rapoport, Lynch will meet with renown specialist Dr. William Meyers today, to see if he has a sports hernia.
f Meyers confirms the fear, surgery would come quickly and Beast Mode could be out the rest of the regular season, Rapoport reports, per a source informed of the injury.
Seattle Seahawks coach Pete Carroll sounded confident last Friday that Marshawn Lynch would play Sunday versus the San Francisco 49ers. Alas, the running back surprisingly sat out the win.
“We’re going to try to take care of him, he’s going to make a trip to go see (a specialist) out in Philadelphia to see if we can figure out what’s going on,” Carroll said Sunday after the game, via the team’s official website. “It’s an abdominal issue, there’s a lot going on there, so we’ve got to see what that all means.”
Carroll said the trip to see Meyers was in the works even before Lynch sat Sunday.
“He tried,” Carroll said. “We rested him all week and we rehabbed him all week-long. Really the first time we took a real look at was out here in pregame, and he just couldn’t get going.”
Seahawks brass and fans can rest easy after rookie Thomas Rawls went ‘Beastmode’ on the 49ers. Lynch may have played his last game in Seattle.
