The Rockets took a flier on Ty Lawson and it isn’t working out.
His contract for next season is a team option, so that wouldn’t be an issue in trading him, but still it would be a hard sell for any team to bring him on at this point.
WOJO gives us some additional details.
In what increasingly has become a fruitless experiment, the Houston Rockets are engaging in trade scenarios to move guard Ty Lawson, league sources told Yahoo Sports.
The Rockets’ front office has been cooperating with Lawson’s representatives in exploring possible deals to bring back some measure of return on the organization’s original investment in Lawson, league sources said.
The Rockets traded away players and picks for Lawson, while the players were marginal at best and all released by Nuggets, the picks, a conditional 1st round pick in 2016 and 2nd round pick in 2017 do carry some value.
One would imagine if they do trade Lawson they will try to recoup the picks.
