Casey Anthony was the most hated person on the planet in the summer 2011. It’s 2017 and she’s probably still up there in most people’s minds. In 2011, she was on trial for killing her 2 year old daughter and she was found not guilty.
Her trial brought 11 million viewers and it became a national sensation much like OJ Simpson’s trial. Both trials were highly polarizing, both found not guilty and both are relatively shunned from society.
Anthony hasn’t said a word since the trial until now. She spoke with the Associated Press and she said she can empathize with Simpson.
She has become fascinated with the case, like the rest of us but from her perspective it’s coming from a vastly different place. She currently lives with Patrick McKenna, a private detective who was the lead investigator on her defense team AND was on Simpson’s team as well. She notes that there are “a lot of parallels” as it pertains to her own circumstances.
The defense’s in both cases are very similar. People don’t buy “glove doesn’t fit” and people don’t believe Anthony when she said the last time she saw her daughter she was alive. There are a million theories for Simpson and the same with Anthony.
Anthony as talks about public perception and being hated but here’s what she said about that.
“I don’t give a s— about what anyone thinks about me, I never will,” she said. “I’m okay with myself, I sleep pretty good at night.”
Well, you have to deal and live with it somehow.
