Meek Mill is headed back to prison for violating his probation per CBS Philly.
The rapper appeared before Judge Genece Brinkley in Philadelphia around 1:30 p.m. Monday on allegations that he violated his probation. Brinkley and Meek Mill go back ten years, as it was the same judge who convicted Mill on gun and distribution charges in 2008.
According to Brinkley, there was also a number of calendar discrepancies. At one point, Mill was supposed to be in Greece but he was in Philadelphia. During today’s court proceedings, Brinkley also told Mill that she didn’t know Mill was in Atlanta for supposed drug rehab. All of these have been ruled as probation violations.
Judge Brinkley sentenced the Philadelphia rapper to two to four years in a Pennsylvania state prison. Mill was immediately taken into custody.
Meek Mill’s attorney Brian McMonagle, says they will appeal the sentencing, claiming the judge’s decision was “excessive.”
