Last week, Kanye West had his listening party for his new studio album Ye in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. While it isn’t the most popular place for a listening party, the scene was still beautiful as it was hosted on a ranch at the Diamond Cross Ranch.
Ye has turned out to be a very successful album despite many people wanting to cancel West for proclaiming his MAGA allegiance and saying that slavery was a choice. It is projected to move 175-190k units in its first week. Despite the turnout, Diamond Cross Ranch owner Jane Golliher was not impressed with the way the listening party was set up.
Golliher said West’s event gave the venue good exposure but that it was the “most confusing event” they’ve coordinated, according to The Blast. She said that the event was initially supposed to take place inside but West changed his mind every 30 minutes which resulted in it ending up outside.
Golliher also added that noise was a problem on the ranch. The music was so loud that neighbors nearby complained about it. It was revealed that Teton County adheres to strict rules regarding music being played outside. After 10PM, music has to be kept at 80 decibals but Ye’s music was at 120.
Golliher came to the decision that no more rappers will be allowed to host events at their ranch and that she should’ve charged West more than the original $50k to host the event.
