There are conflicting reports on if Draymond was apologizing to Tristan Thompson when TTK punched him or if TTK just decided to take Draymond for his word that they could fight at any time during the summer and fight, so he punched him on site.
Here is the newest report from Marcus Thompson of The Athletic.
“In what would be best told by the late great storyteller Charlie Murphy, the ‘streets’ turned out to be the swanky Delilah restaurant in West Hollywood on July 18. Both Green and Thompson were guests of LeBron for this ultra-exclusive affair — which prohibited phones and cameras. None of the attendees expected the on-the-court drama to flare back up in this setting.
“Which is why everyone was stunned when Thompson, according to sources, out of nowhere attacked Green.
“No argument. No squaring up. No taking it outside.
“‘It was a sucker punch,’ said one source who attended the party.
I stated on Twitter that the reason there was no video was that the phones were taken at the door. This happens often at this type of events.
The truth of what happened is probably somewhere in the middle. BSO sources tell me that the punch didn’t land flush and wasn’t a devastating blow, which is why Draymond showed no effects when I saw to him the next day a charity soccer game. It has been described as a shove, mush or a quick 1-2, but whatever it was it didn’t have a huge effect besides pissing Draymond off. Eventually, they all just got over it and assumed it would never come out, they were wrong.
