Report: Tom Jackson Likely Not to Return to Sunday Countdown

Tom Jackson

ESPN it appears to be trying to usher out the old and bring in the new.

The old is Tom Jackson who has been at the network for 28 years, but his time could be coming to an end according to NY Daily News.

Tom Jackson, who spent 28 seasons as one of the most recognizable and insightful NFL studio analysts on television, likely will not return to ESPN’s “Sunday NFL Countdown” the Daily News has learned.

Another industry said the odds of Jackson returning to ESPN are long.

“My guess is he is going to leave,” the source said.

There will be some new faces on Sunday Countdown (Randy Moss, Charles Woodson and Matt Hasselbeck) and there have been reports that Chris Berman will be retiring soon as well, so it makes sense that Jackson may want out.

Randy Moss Officially Joins ESPN; Here are The Shows He’ll Be Featured On

This was unofficially announced months ago, but now it is official.

Randy Moss will be joining ESPN. If you told someone ten years ago Moss would be on ESPN, they probably would have laughed at you.

But, Moss was very good at FOX and will bring a breath of fresh air to the ESPN football programs.

Here are the details.

Randy Moss, a six-time Pro Bowler and one of the most transcendent wide receivers in NFL history, is joining ESPN. He will serve as an analyst on Sunday NFL Countdown and Monday Night Countdown from the site of each week’s Monday Night Football game. He will also contribute to ESPN’s annual Super Bowl week coverage.

“As a player and now as an analyst, Randy has always been candid, direct and compelling; when he talks about football and other topics, you are instantly drawn to what he has to say,” said Seth Markman, senior coordinating producer for ESPN’s NFL studio shows. “With Matthew Hasselbeck, Charles Woodson and now Randy joining ESPN this offseason, we have added three dynamic, new voices to our studio team, all of whom are widely known and respected among football fans.”

Moss added: “ESPN is the No. 1 sports channel in the world! Now I’m a part of a network I grew up running home to watch. The team that has been put together has so much football knowledge to share and I can’t wait to get started. I feel very blessed and excited for this opportunity. It’s going be a great and fun year.”

Jay Bilas on Supporting #BLM, Police & Acknowledging Black Americans Struggle (Vid)

While I was covering ESPYS week in LA one of the things I wanted to ask the various athletes, entertainers and media people was what they thought about what was going on in our country right now.

We have a racial divide and a lot of the blame unfairly is being placed on the Black Lives Matters movement.

Out of all the interviews I did, I thought Jay Bilas of ESPN has the best answer and the reason it was the best was because it used common sense.

If more people thought like Bilas this country would be in a much better place.

CBS Producer Fired For Wishing Death on #blacklivesmatters Members

There’s entirely too much hate going on in this country right now to say the least.

In the midst of all the police brutality and what happened to the five innocent officers in Dallas last week, people’s true colors are beginning to show.

Now, former CBS46 photographer and producer, Charles Beau Menefee, has been fired after going on a racial rant targeting supports of the ‘black lives matter’ movement.

Racial rant

Another post went like this: “Wow, look at all the great things #blacklivesmatter is making happen in the world. An ARMED ignorant piece of s–t with a gold grill in his mouth like Alton Sterling was totally a reason for you unevolved, uncivilized turds to kill good, moral, moral, civilized people like police officers. Go die … ”

Just purely disgusting stuff.
