An anonymous woman has come forward to say that Ronaiah Tuiasosopo was the sole mastermind behind Te’o fake cancer dead girlfriend hoax and Te’o is innocent.
Here is what she told ESPN.
“He (Ronaiah) told me that Manti was not involved at all, he was a victim. … The girlfriend was a lie, the accident was a lie, the leukemia was a lie,” said the woman. “He was crying, he was literally crying, he’s like ‘I know, I know what I have to do.’
“It’s not only Manti, but he was telling me that it’s a lot of other people they had done this to.”
The woman didn’t want to be identified and ESPN only spoke with her via the telephone. Meaning there is no way to confirm she knows Te’o or Ronaiah Tuiasosopo.
But, let’s take her word at face value.
It still doesn’t explain why Te’o kept doing interviews and making statements about his fake cancer dead girlfriend after he knew he had been duped.
In an earlier report Te’o claims he did it to protect the team, but that doesn’t explain why he would bring it up without being asked about her, which he did several times. It also doesn’t explain why he lied about how they met and the time they spent together.
The rabbit hole gets deeper.
