My dad when I was growing up got a job out of state, so for the majority of my youth I was raised by my mom and my grandmothers. First her mom and then as I got a little older my Dad’s mom. I have no complaints they always told me not having my father around on a daily basis was no excuse to not strive to be the best person I could.
But when you are a teenager there are some things that your mom can’t help you with. Especially my mom, bless her heart, she tried, but she has no clue about sports.
When I was in grade school our principle put me in a program for the Boys and Girls Club because I wanted to play Pee-Wee Football.
I believe to this day that decision helped changed my life. That is why when I read stories about the Boys and Girls I always try to speak on them, because it is important for everyone to understand how important it is for kids who liked me who need guidance and a reason to stay out of the dark side of the streets.
Wheaties Fuel has teamed with the Boys and Girls Club for a campaign here are the details.
Wheaties FUEL®, the first-ever cereal designed specifically to help fuel wins, recently launched its “FUEL a Future” campaign to empower parents and other mentors to help develop the next generation of champions through sports.
Starting April 6, any adult can pledge to play one game of basketball with a child in their family or community at www.FuelaFuture.com. Wheaties FUEL will donate $1 per pledge to Boys & Girls Clubs of America. Wheaties FUEL guarantees a $50,000 donation to Boys & Girls Clubs and will donate up to $40,000 more based on pledges.*
You can donate simply by going to the “pledge now” button on BSO.
