Harrison decided today that he wasn’t going to retire (probably when they told him he had to give back six million of his bonus money he ran back on the field faster than Usain Bolt).
One of the players Harrison KOed last Sunday was Josh Cribbs. Cribbs and Harrison went to the same college Kent State and I don’t think he was trying to hurt Cribb, but Harrison’s mom just wanted to check and make sure. TMZ has more details:
Just hours after Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker James Harrison delivered a devastating helmet-to-helmet blow to Cleveland Browns star Josh Cribbs last week — Cribbs hugged it out with Harrison’s mom.
This photo was taken at the stadium — roughly 30 minutes after the game — and we’re told Mama Harrison told Cribbs, “I hope you’re OK.”
Cribbs — who played on the same team with Harrison at Kent State — explained that he wasn’t upset with Harrison, because it’s all part of the game.
That was sweet of her. Honestly I don’t think the majority of NFL are trying to injure anyone. They are playing hard and fast, things happen.
Even with hits like the Brandon Merriweather on Todd Heap, those are split second decisions made by men going 100 MPH, they just need to be a little bit more careful.
I don’t think they have to revamp their entire game, just tighten it up a bit and everything will be cool.
