Denver Broncos Considering Cutting or Trading Tim Tebow

The Broncos are handling the Tim Tebow situation all wrong.  They used a 1st round pick on Tebow, they need to give him an opportunity to fail in the regular season.

Until Tebow fails in the regular season he will feel like he didn’t get a fair shake.  Granted Kyle Orton and Brady Quinn have played better than Tebow, but if the Broncos have no interest in letting him play, they need to get rid of him. It isn’t helping anyone keeping him around.

Mike Freeman of CBSSports.com breaks down the situation.

The consensus in speaking with a handful of team personnel executives when it comes to one Tim Tebow is this: A trade could happen, but it’s becoming increasingly likely the Broncos will keep or cut Tebow because the trade interest is dwindling rapidly.

The executives portray the Tebow situation as a complicated one. They believe that while the Broncos are not openly trying to trade Tebow, they say that when teams have recently inquired about him, the Broncos haven’t been saying he’s off the trading block, either.

The Broncos might deny this, but based on their recent actions, it seems they’re realizing Tebow might not be a bona fide NFL thrower. Tebow was the third quarterback in Denver’s last game. It might not stay that way, and there is a solid chance Tebow simply stays in Denver and learns and the franchise keeps him around.

I have said for awhile that Tebow would be better served at being a Fullback or H-Back, but the reality of the situation is the Broncos took him in the 1st round of the draft as a quarterback.

They only have themselves to blame for this even if it was a different regimen.  They need to make a decision and make one now.  If Tebow is the future they need to throw him into the fire, if they have decided he isn’t their savior let Backup Jesus go to a team that believes he can turn water into wine.
