Yes, Kid Rock is a Michigan guy so it only makes sense that he would feel this way. However, the Detroit Lions have made major strides since their embarrassing 0-16 performance a few years ago. Since Jim Schwartz was introduced as the head coach in Detroit, they’ve improved steadily each year. And based on the recent influx of talent, there’s plenty of reasons for Lions fans to feel good about their team this year.
* Adding Nick Fairley to a D-Line that already has monster/freak Ndamukong Suh
* The acquisition of tackling machine Stephen Tulloch in free agency
* Matt Stafford looking healthy and ready to lead a loaded offense along w/ playmakers Jahvid Best, Calvin Johnson, and Brandon Pettigrew
Kid Rock, a native of Romeo, Michigan, has sensed a change for the better in Detroit and thinks that his Lions will take a big step this year:
“I think the Lions are going to win nine or 10 games,” Kid Rock told the Associated Press. “They really have turned it around. … It’s been a long time coming here in Detroit.”
It really has been a long time coming for the Lions. Ever since Barry Sanders prematurely retired, the Joey Harrington/Matt Millen era has put the city through some tough years. Luckily for Detroit, it seems as if this might the year that their Lions break out.
I, for one, agree with Kid Rock as I have the Lions finishing 2nd in the NFC North and grabbing a wild card spot.
We will see…
