It is a long shot that Banks will make a NFL roster, but it doesn’t hurt to at least give him an opportunity to try out.
Considering all he has went through, finding an hour in your day during the offseason to at least give him some advice or words of encouragement isn’t too much to ask from NFL teams.
Banks is focused on football. He is scheduled to try out with the Seattle Seahawks, Washington Redskins and Kansas City Chiefs, Banks’ legal team told The Times on Wednesday.
ESPN reports the Seahawks, led by former USC football coach Pete Carroll, have offered Banks a tryout June 7. The U-T San Diego reported Wednesday that Banks also has been in contact with the San Diego Chargers.
“I’ll make ’em happy,” Banks told Reilly, who wrote that Banks has been training since October. “After all I’ve been through these last 10 years, I can still do some things that will impress you.”
While these are great opportunities let’s not forget why Banks is in this situation.
