Jon Jones has had a rough few weeks since being blamed for the cancellation of UFC 151.
He’s had PR people quit on him because he’s difficult to deal with. He’s been called everything from a coward to a chicken.
UFC president Dan White said Jones decision to allow a UFC event to be cancelled was absolutely,”disgusting.”
Jones is now doing his own personal public relations campaign to show people what kind of man he is.
Jones told the New York Post during a media conference call, “I’m not a villain.”
He had a few other things to say as well.
“I’m not a bad person. … I’m like the nicest person ever. I know that for a fact. I’m not gonna embrace the villain role, because that’s who I am as a person.”
“I’m not used to people hanging on every word I say,” “Everything I tweet is an article.”
“I’m a normal dude and I’m a 25-year-old.”
“I’m gonna make a lot of mistakes. I’ve never been trained in PR. I’m a snotty-nosed dude and I say what I feel. I’m just me.”
Jones will meet with Dana White in a few weeks to discuss the whole situation.
In my opinion he seems like a young 20 something year old guy who is over the whole situation, and just wants to move on with his life.
Jones will fight Vitor Belfort at UFC 152 on Sept. 22 in Toronto.
