Washington Redskins running back Alfred Morris is quickly making a name for himself in the National Football League.
Morris is the Skins starting running back and is averaging 4.2 yards a carry in two games already.
The rookie signed a four-year $2.23 million deal in may and can afford something nice if he chooses to at this point.
Right now at this moment he does not.
Redskins Blog is reporting that Morris still drives his 1991 silver Mazda 626 sedan.
When asked why he still drives it, Morris gives a humble answer.
“It has some sentimental value to it now.”
“It just keeps me grounded, where I came from and all the hard work for me to get to this point. So that’s what helps me.”
Morris calls the car his “Bentley,” and says he never owned a car until his Jr season at Florida Atlantic.
In a time when certain players can blow through $26 million, hint hint, it’s wonderful to see such humility and patience.
