No it wasn’t a full workout with his teammates, or some 100% full go type of thing, but Sixers center Andrew Bynum got his first official on court work in since being traded to team this summer.
Crossing Broad reports that Bynum got up some shots, moved around a little bit, and even broke a sweat. Bynum spoke to the media after his session and revealed that he’s been running, on an anti-gravity treadmill. Most importantly for Sixers fans, he emphasized that he’s eager to return.
Delco Time: Feel good out there?
Bynum: “Yeah, man. Coming along well. I’m up to running now on the (anti-gravity treadmill), steady at an eight-mile-an-hour clip for 20 minutes, so that’s good. I’m incorporating weights. Time to get ready – ready to play.”
Delco Times: When did running start?
Bynum: “Running started today. I’ve been jogging, but running started today. Weights, I’ve been doing them, but it’s more explosive stuff.”
Delco Times: Running?
Bynum: “Not on the court, but on the treadmill over there. It’s starting out with a jog and then running. I haven’t sprinted and stopped. Acceleration and deceleration and stuff like that, I’m still working up to that.”
I’m not going to clown Andrew today, he really put in some work today.
