Report: Packers may lock up Aaron Rodgers long-term this Off-seaon

Aaron Rodgers surveys the defense

While the looming free agency of Baltimore Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco has been the main story of the upcoming off-season, it appears another quarterback may be set to cash in.

Green Bay Packers Aaron Rodgers has two years left on his deal, at $9.25 million and $10.5 million respectively. Per Pete Dougherty of the Green Bay Press Gazette, GM Ted Thompson “appears more likely” to address Rodger’s contract situation this off-season as opposed to next.

With the average base salary of quarterbacks coming out to $17.24 million a year, Rodgers will certainly demand a deal somewhere in that area and he would most certainly deserve it.

While the Ravens decided to let Joe Flacco run his course and prove he deserves top quarterback money, it appears the Packers aren’t willing to risk such a thing.
