Jose Aldo is coming off of a 5 round battle with Frankie Edgar that ended in him retaining his Feather Weight Title by unanimous decision. Now he will face his toughest challenge as champion in former-Lightweight #1 contender Anthony Pettis.
Pettis is one of the most exciting fighters in the UFC and his style is vastly different from what Aldo saw in his match with Edgar.
Pettis will be cutting from his 155 lbs to fight at 145lbs and the Featherweight championship. This will be the second fighter in a row that drops down to fight Aldo.
Aldo is currently on a 15 fight winning streak and has had his title since 2009.
This will be Pettis’ first opportunity to fight for a UFC title, he previously held the WEC Lightweight Championship in 2009, and the match was announced earlier this week the MMA community has been buzzing with excitement.
