BYU star defensive end and top draft prospect Ziggy Ansah is scheduled to graduate with a degree in actuarial science and a minor in math on Thursday April 25.
That just so happens to be the same night of the first round of the 2013 NFL Draft. Ansah who’s expected to be an early round pick had initially planned on walking and receiving his degree in Provo, but after some prodding from friends, and an invite to be in New York on draft night, Ansah had a change of heart according to USA Today.
“I wasn’t going to go (to the draft). I was going to be educational — I’ve got to walk at my graduation,” Ansah told USA TODAY Sports. “But then I got the invitation from the NFL, and I have my friends telling me, ‘What the heck is wrong with you? You’re going to go walk? Don’t be stupid.’ “
Ansah, who is from in Ghana, has only been playing football since 2010.
