Soccer-crazed fans outside of North America, mainly the ones from Europe and South America, are known for their acts of buffoonery.
The fans of Greek team AEK Athens showed their animalistic side when they chased the players of their team and those of the opposing club Panathinaikos, including team officials off the field after a player scored an own goal.
According to Yahoo Sports, the fans’ outrage stems from the strong possibility of Athens being relegated following the season for the first time in its 89-year history. The game was delayed for 90 minutes before it was called off; apparently 15 arrests were made.
The fans may have also aided in the demotion of the team, if the league deducts points as a form of punishment.
