No one knows exactly what is going on except that Golson is not in school and if he isn’t in school he can’t be the starting quarterback of Notre Dame.
Notre Dame has confirmed to TV station WNDU that quarterback Everett Golson is no longer enrolled. The university stated that due to “federal and school privacy laws,” no further information could be released.
Golson started 11 games for the Irish leading them to an undefeated record and a spot in the National Championship game. There were back expectations for him going into his Sophomore season.
It appears it is an academic issue, but nothing specific.
To be (a little) more specific on Everett Golson: An academic violation behind the QB no longer being enrolled at #NotreDame, per sources.
