The Nebraska Cornhuskers football may want to spend a few weeks together working on team bonding techniques.
Husker Extra is reporting that redshirt freshman linebacker Thomas Brown and incoming freshman defensive end Ernest Suttles have been dismissed from the Nebraska football team after Ernerst Suttles hit teammate David Santos over the head with a bottle during a house party.
“We are aware of an incident involving student-athletes which occurred off campus over the weekend. We are working with the University’s Dean of Students in gathering further details. We will continue to review the incident,” the statement read. “Further, head football coach Bo Pelini has announced that Ernest Suttles and Thomas Brown are no longer members of the football program.”
Lincoln Police Capt. Danny Reitan said a fight broke out in the house between two other people and both Suttles and Santos jumped in.
At some point during the fight, Suttles inexplicably hit Santos in the head with a bottle, Captain Reitan said. Reitan did not know the cause of the fight.
