If you tuned into episode 2 of HBO’s Hard Knocks last night, you were blessed with the vocal styling of Bengals DL Terrence Stephens.

The truth is that it wasn’t Stephens’ first go around at singing on a reality show. CBS Sports reports that Stephens actually made his singing debut several years ago on Fox’s hit show American Idol. Stephens told reporters:
“I was 16 and it was something that I had always wanted to do. I didn’t get as far as I wanted to, but it was an interesting experience to say the least.”
The good news is that Stephens impressed Simon Cowell and the crew enough to get past the first round, but unfortunately he was eliminated in the second round of competition. Stephens is now working his way unto the Bengals roster as an undrafted free agent who spent his college years at Stanford. After his performance last night, Stephens at least deserves a spot on the practice squad.
