USC football is denying reports this morning that ex-Penn State running back Silas Redd was picked up by Snoop Dogg in a limousine upon arriving in Los Angeles last summer.
Redd of course chose to transfer from Penn State after the Sandusky sanctions were handed down, and USC reportedly did their best to woo Redd by picking him up in a Mercedes jet, and introducing him to celebs.
Larry Brown Sports is reporting that In a new book titled, “Fourth and Long: The Fight for the Soul of College Football“, which comes out on Sept. 3, the author, Michigan Journalism Professor John U. Bacon, reports that Snoop was waiting for Redd in a limo when his airplane touched down in LA.
Lane Kiffin is alleged to have called in that favor from Snoop.
Redd of course ended up in Southern Cal, and gained over 900 yards. USC is of course denying Snoop had any involvement in the recruitment of Redd.
“Silas Redd has never met Snoop Dogg, much less received a ride from him in any type of vehicle. USC head coach Lane Kiffin picked up Silas from the airport on his recruiting visit,” the school said in a statement.
