When 76ers new GM Sam Hinkie started his wheeling and dealing during the NBA draft, many assumed it would be Evan Turner who got his walking papers.
Instead, Hinkie traded the 76ers only All Star in Jrue Holiday, for a first round pick that turned into Nerlens Noel. Turner for his part thought he would be traded, and said he was prepared to move on.
“[I] was ready, just hoping it was warm,” Turner said, smiling.
Turner did have his best season as a pro last year after averaging 13.3 points per game.
